It was a surprisingly lovely morning following the non-stop storms in the days before.
Early morning the weather was not great and our website was down, but luckily we still had a great turnout of volunteers and participants.
The wind eased to 5-10 knots from 31 knots the night before. We had 9 expected participants, but unfortunately, Judith caught COVID-19, so we wish her well.
We had 6 of the booked participants show up as well as 2 others, so we chose to put 4 boats out since it was a pretty calm day of sailing. We even had visitors from Brisbane, Sharon, who had a great time sailing today, and her husband and dog, Xena who was popular amongst the volunteers. We had John, Clare, Dennis, Sandy and Jeremy swap out as skippers today, and Shelley manning the radios for the first time. Our new volunteer Marese had a sail with Clare, and was a great help on the deck as well.
Overall it was a calm day for sailing, with great weather and an early pack up by 12, so it was an enjoyable day for all participants and volunteers.
