Our Sailing Day turned out to be a fine sunny day with light winds. 14 volunteers arrived to rig 5 Hansa boats ready for our first participants, Kate, Grace, Thomas and Simone all getting a long sail before the group Birds arrived. Sandra chose to ride on Charlie’s Chariot with Jackie at the helm, Ken as our photographer and David on lookout. James and Stuart had a slow sail as the wind had dropped for a short time.
Frances from Ryde Rehab had her first sailing experience today. Hopefully she picked up some sailing skills and can come again.
Luz All Abilities team arrived with Luca, Bradley, Leo, Yash, Tara, and Anna all enjoyed their sail on Manly Cove. Mathew and Sam, regular participants also had a sail. Sam enjoyed the water so much he wanted to go for a swim after sailing; however, the water is too cold for him yet.
John was on school holiday duty and brought along his granddaughter for a sail with the rest of his family taking a ride in Charlie’s Chariot. John later helped on the deck, with Malcolm, Brian and Mark doing a fine job on pontoon.
Thank you for all the lovely carers and volunteers for making it an enjoyable day out on beautiful Manly Cove for everyone.
