This morning’s weather forecast was for slowly rising westerlies to north westerlies, so we started by rigging 5 303’s and one 2.3 for Ivan to go for a solo sail.
Unfortunately the weather did not believe this forecast, so we put Clea away before we even got started as it was blowing up to a hurricane. So with 5 303’s, and an eager sailing crew, we welcomed Grace, Ivan, Elizabeth, Thomas, Sam from our local area, then Rodney, Luke, Adam and Ginny from Sunnyfield. After getting equipped with life-jackets, these 9 sailors had a wonderful time on the water with their respective captains, until almost 11.30 when our last group for the day arrived after a long drive from Blacktown. Gheel, Ashley, Anna and Genevieve donned lifejackets and took off for a sail across Manly Cove. Luckily, there was a spare boat waiting for Hanlin when he arrived, dressed appropriately and went on his merry way.
Our crew for today was Corey on radio, Warwick on Charlie’s Chariot, Sailors Peter, W and Peter B, David, Brian, Michael, Denis and Jeremy. Observer on Charlie’s Chariot was Jennie, Photographer, Petra. Helping on deck and looking after lifting apparatus was Nola. Last of all, an easy job today because everyone was willing to get involved. Thanks so much everyone who came down, and all of the helpers, it made for a very exciting and interesting day for all.
