Volunteers were met with a beautiful sunny spring day with a fresh breeze that built during the morning, however our clients were not so confident and only eight booked to sail.
So, we only rigged four boats, and early sailing arrivals included Andrew, regulars Lizzy and Vanessa as well as Tom, Bradley and Will, whose mum and his carer observed him from Charlies Chariot. Cory managed our radio communications with his usual skill, while Michael M, Vince and Peter manned the pontoon.
Warwick skippered Charlies Chariot with Ken, later relieved by Jeremey and Cate, who came to see what we do and if she would like to volunteer with Manly Sailability. Nola and Clare registered visitors and fitted life jackets and were later relieved by Helene and Ros. Sophie, John W, Michael B and Jeremey were kept busy taking our clients out for some spirited and sometimes wet sailing, including Paul, Phillip, Chris, Tash and Cameron.
Although designated as SDC, John W had more fun on the water in the wet and gusty conditions and at 11.00 it was decided to call sailing to a halt due to the strengthening winds.
In the end we had 14 participants and although shortened, the day was a great success for all.
