The sun shone and a gentle breeze picked up gradually throughout the morning, making for fine sailing weather today.
We had plenty of volunteers and a smaller number of participants, so lots of people took the opportunity to practice sailing or skippering Charlie’s Chariot. Eli and Ivan got in early with a romantic sail before participants arrived. Ragnhild, John W, Sandy, Rob, Sophie, Jackie, Denis, Jannie and Peter B rotated in and out as sailors for the day. Warwick skippered Charlie’s Chariot with Shelly getting some motorboat training in, and Eli and Clare on board for observation and photos. Isabella helped out on the dock and got some sailing practice in too. Also on the dock were Victoria, Nomusa, Michael B, Michael M, Jeremy, with Jay lending a hand after sailing with Rob. Helen managed registrations, with Wilma and Ros on lifejackets, refreshments and helping Helen out.
We had Shane and Leonie visit for a sail, as well as Bradley and Paul. We also had Jemy, Greg and Lisa visit from Sunnyfield.
Toward the end of the day, John W’s granddaughter Gigi came down for some sailing practice before she starts lessons at Manly Yacht Club in October – John is a very proud to have another sailor in the family!
Thanks to everyone for a very pleasant morning.
