Our sailing participants were a very brave group this morning. The wind had been forecast to drop steadily during the day, but instead remained close to our higher limit. This whipped up a million tiny waves that constantly broke into the sailing dinghies, causing some wet clothes, and a large swell. Very exciting conditions for: Grace, Rodney, Mark and Daniel. Then Juliet, who is going to enter the regatta, and Paul, Daniel and Sam from Freshtracks. Paul showed us just how enjoyable sailing is going to be for him by taking his turn twice, with huge, visible enjoyment. Then Ollie, Judy and new member George, with Dad Steven went for a sail. David G and Jenny came with Freshtracks and enjoyed being helpers. Kerry, Anna, Ashley came with Alex. Philip came with brother Nicholas and some other family members. Ben, Robert, Alyssa, and Susie came with Siaosi and Lawrence. Philip, as usual, gave us some thrilling moments as he keeled over almost allowing the top of the sail to touch the waves, then managed to get the boat on course again.
Last group to arrive were the Creativity Inc people Hayden, Nicholas, Nicholas, Josh and Noah, with helper Ruby. These were truly enjoying the moment, and best of all was the sausage sizzle provided by Helen, Wilma and Lyn.
Thanks everyone for a lovely day.
