The weather forecast was very enticing this morning, with light winds forecast and a medium to warm temperature approaching us.
Our very eager team arrived quite early, so that by 9.00 a.m. there were 4 303’s on the deck, and the little 2.3 ready to go. As the day progressed we put out an extra 303, as a large group arrived, and we had plenty of helpers.
Our team for the day comprised Jim on Charlie’s Chariot, observer, Cecilia, sailors: Malcolm, Michael, Rob S, Denis, John W, John P and Warwick. New helpers today were Guy and Robert S, who took the time to acclimatise himself before going down to the pontoon to help when things got hectic.
First to arrive this morning were Thomas and helper, Amardeep, Elizabeth, then our 3 friends from Northside, Grant, Craig and Tarek. When these people arrived and were comfortably accommodated, Ivan arrived for his session on Clea. He had a great sail in the slowly rising breeze, until he got swamped and needed a lift back.
Then we really got busy, with 13 friends from Care Culture: Grant, Ava, Ally, Mia, Ben, Aaron, James, Matilda, Alex, Olli, some of these choosing a joy ride on Charlie’s Chariot.
Later on, our friends from Luz All Abilities arrived for their sail, then Katie from CPA.
I believe to photos from today are spectacular, culminating in a very worthwhile sailing day.
Thanks to all of the helpers, who make the day so worthwhile for everyone.
