The day started with light winds and a beautiful blue sky. Saturday the 13th December turned out to be one of the most stunning days on the water this season. Not too much and not too little winds, just the perfect goldilocks amount. We had 19 participants on the day, with only 13 volunteers.
Although light on with the Volunteers, John, Peter, Warwick, Corey, Denise, Rob, Nola, Skye, Vince, Helene, Michael M and Michael B made the day look effortless and made my job as the Sailing Coordinator extremely easy and fun.
It was very rewarding to see our latest boat to the fleet (Helen Hendry) whizzing around Manly Cove and hearing Helen’s name over the radio, made us feel she was still with us keeping an eye on the front desk as we all try to come up to the expert speed and efficiency of Helen.
Dolly, our favourite oldest boat in the fleet, was in the sick bay, but will soon be back on the water which will please Leonnie Blick as purple is her favourite colour and a long term favourite for Jessica Kelderman.
As 2025 draws to end, may we thank all our participants for joining in the fun we have at Manly Sailabilty and to lots more fun on the water in 2026. We are back on the water January 3. Until then may we wish you and our wonderful volunteers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
