In spite of a gloomy weather forecast, we decided to go ahead with Sailability because the day looked perfect.
Helpers Corey on the radio, Wilma on the Registration Desk, Sailors, Warwick, Jennie, Jeremy, Steve, Sophie, Michael rigged and launched 6 Boats. We were blessed with a visitor from Sailability London, Corene, who quickly went for a training/test sail with Jeremy, and was judged to have adequate skills for our purposes. Malcolm arrived for his stint as Pontoon Manager, and he and Dany took over the pontoon role, while John became skipper for Charlie’s Chariot.
Elizabeth, Ivan and Thomas arrived early and were allocated a boat and sailor, then we settled down to wait for the rest of our participants as the day became warmer, and the strong winds settled. Care Culture arrived with their 9 eager young sailors, and after settling themselves into Life-Jackets and slings they were just through with their turn at sailing, when the three from CatholicCare arrived. Luz All Abilities arrived next, then just before we packed up for the morning, our usual group from Sunnyfields arrived at about the same time as Hanlin. Ken took some wonderful photos from Charlie’s Chariot. Our visitor from London finished with a wonderful smile and wished that she was not going home to England tomorrow.
