Our wise and willing helpers arrived bright and early to set up for our planned sailing day. It was Peter Bs turn to take
charge and the decision to put out 7 boats was made because of the number of willing sailors who were there.
Sailors Jonathon, Ragnhild, Denis, Brian, John, Jeremy, Steve, and Michael put out the boats, Corey was in charge of
communications, Justine and Dany looked after the pontoon, Wilma was the Registrar, Petra and Lena were in
charge of the deck, myself on the camera. Extras moving from one task to another were Justine, Tristan, David and
Lena. Tyres on moving equipment were pumped up, that uncertain hoist was exchanged for a reliable one, and all
was ready by 9.30 a.m.
The facts that made the day even more perfect were the wonderful weather, the groups that turned up bright and
early, and the eager carers that came down with our sailors this morning. Before 9.30 a.m. there were 7 participants
with their helpers ready for their turn: Xavier with Tristan, Hannah, Athan, Peter and Jayden with Scott and Craig,
Grace with Martha, Ivan with John. Then before long, Paul turned up with Annie, Shane with Skye, and Sam with
Tara. Then spread out over the rest of the morning, Eddie, James and Kyle from Catholiccare, Hanlin with Santosh,
Lee, Alex and Mark from Headway. Last to arrive were Rodney and Luke from Sunnyfield. For those who are
counting, that is 42 people having a wonderful time this morning. Warwick started on Charlie’s Chariot, and there
were changes to this through the morning, with David, Ragnhild and Brian taking their turn. All together, a most
satisfying morning.
