few weeks ago, Sargood at Collaroy suggested that some of their hotel guests may enjoy a fishing day. This sounded as if it would work on days other than sailing days, as long as the weather stayed fine, and crew on Charlie’s Chariot was limited to 5.
Tuesday was the chosen day, and 2 very special guests, Lee and Jett, came down to MYC with their helper, Wade. Warwick was the Charlie’s Chariot driver and Ken the observer. Warwick provided bait and fishing lines. It was the best day possible for wind, smoothness of the water, sun shining warmly on Manly Cove, and lots of favourite spots. There were several moments of deepened excitement as a fish took the hook. With the true feeling of fishermen each was carefully removed from the hook and thrown back, as none were large enough to take. A lesson learnt for both fish and fishermen.
