Today was memorable because of the brilliant weather, as well as the marvellous team of helpers, and the merry groups who came down to Sailability today.
We had just one starter from Chosen Connect, Nikki, who absolutely loved his first sail with us. Helper Alana, supervised from the following (or leading) 303, engendering a whole heap of fun for both of them.
The BIRDs arrived next, first of all, Steve, who took off with Michael in Woody, and we didn’t see them again for almost an hour. Then Danielle sailed away solo, and the rest of the group with their chosen sailors. Stuart, Alan, James, Brad, Peter, Kris, Jimmy, Patrick and Katherine all enjoyed the best part of the day on the water, before driving down to the wharf for their Fish and Chip Lunch.
Thanks a lot to carers for the day:
Niall and Alana from Chosen Connect, and Gaynor and the group from BIRDS.
Our team was at its wonderful best:
Sailors:Peter, Brian, Ivan, John W., John B., John G, Michael, John P., Malcolm.
Power Boat Driver: David, Observer Ken, then John W and observer John P
Our Pontoon Manager was Col, Jay helped with the rigging, Denis was Boat Operations Manager.
Helen was the registrar, Sheila managed the life-jackets, Corey the radio, Tony helped all over the place.
Best of all, Wilma stood outside in the heat and cleaned and polished the barbecue, a difficult job and long overdue.
Thanks so much to all of these people, the day went swimmingly because of all the teamwork that was taking place.
