What a beautiful day to return to Manly Sailability on Saturday 15th January 2025.
Volunteers, Bridget, Steven F, John P, Brian, James, Stephen B, Malcolm, Peter W, Michael B, Dany & Peter B helped get the gear out & boats rigged & in the water by 9.10am.
Warwick was the SDC.
Ken, Sophie & Joe then arrived.
Wilma, we would be lost without your volunteering efforts – tea / coffee & biscuits all set up & registering the participants on arrival.
We were lucky to have a couple [Laura & Benedint] out from Germany on holidays who wished to see what Sailability was all about.
James took Benedint sailing in Woody & Sophie took Laura in Vin. James agreed that Benedint was a capable sailor & could handle the Hanza 303, so he took Laura & they had a good time sailing together in Manly Cove on their last day in Australia. They both agree that it could not have been better.
Care Culture arrived with 13 participants, They were taken sailing by Stephen, Denis, Michael, Sophie, Brian, James & John P. unfortunately only in light wind conditions.
John W was skipper of Charlie’s Chariot with Eli / Ken the photographers. They also took various participants as required for a ride around Manly Cove. As usual, Rodney [ Sunnyfield ] drove at full speed under the watchful eyes of Skipper John W.
Volunteers Bridget & Dany also gained some sailing experiences.
As usual Steven & Malcolm were the kings of the pontoon & helped by Dany, Bridget, Peter W., Peter B.
Cory also as usual did a great job on the radio & timekeeping the boats.
Other participants from Fighting Chance [1], Sunnyfield [2], Luz All Abilities [6] also attended & all had a great sail.
Boats were all de-rigged, washed down & gear put away by 12.15pm & everybody confirmed it had been a great morning.
