We started with the Royal Far West students. For most of them, this was their first time on the water and they absolutely loved the experience. Hannah, Chloe, Ethan, Blake, Trevena, Jesse, Daniel, Lexie, Blair, Jasmine and Luke, all managed to have a sail as well as a ride on the Support Boat.
Arranounbai School students arrived early as well, so they were able to have their morning tea while waiting for the RFW children to complete their sailing. Eli, Michael, Aaron, Wenbin, Kit, Jatin, Evie and Jonah had a wonderful time, with Jonah getting his hands wet up to his elbows, and Michael commenting loudly all the way across the bay. These students have all sailed with us before, and are getting used to the routine. They are more confident climbing into the boats, happier to don life-jackets, and full of cheerful chatter.
Michael arrived next from Menimbah with his friend Mehader, and Vincent arrived with Melin. Jonathan came down with Doug, and together they went off in the Support Boat for their on-water session.
Choosing Connect, from the Aspect Centre came down for the first time. What wonderful participants they are! No life-jacket problems, no hanging around, just into the boats as they became available, and away with those huge smiles.
House With No Steps, with participants: Dennis, Nina, Paul, Stefan, Tiara, Mikey and David came with helpers Amanda, Gabby, Matt and Gok, thoroughly enjoyed their morning tea, then happily went for a sail for the rest of the morning.
It was the best packing up we’ve done for a long time, with David W making sure everything squeezed into as tight a space as possible. Thanks so much for making it a lovely day, everyone.
